‘Like a Shot of Adrenaline’: Texas Pastor Describes President and First Lady’s Visit to His Church [VIDEO]

The pastor of the Texas church that President Trump and First Lady Melania visited on Saturday said the visit was a boost of encouragement for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

“Everything in Houston has been just very dramatic, a lot of emotional struggles,” the Pastor Ken Gurley of Houston’s First Church of Pearland told “Fox & Friends” on Sunday.

“To have the president, first lady … and others come, it was just a joy and it was like a shot of adrenaline.”

The first couple met with victims and helped serve a meal at a storm shelter on Saturday during their second visit to devastated Houston.

The president was “very engaged and very compassionate” and asked Gurley what he needed for recovery efforts.

“He acted like an old pro at it” when helping deliver goods, Gurley said.

Gurley’s church survived Hurricane Ike, he recalled, but this time “the outpouring of love has just been staggering.”

“It rains, but God rains,” the pastor concluded.
